Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 June 2026
1. Acceptance
By purchasing or using a Teleprompter4u access pass you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the operator of teleprompter4u.com, a business operating from Australia.
2. The Service
Teleprompter4u provides a live, real-time English ↔ Sinhala translation aid displayed on a second screen between two computers. It is designed to help speakers of both languages understand each other during a live conversation. It is an assistive tool — not a certified interpreting service.
3. Licence & Access Passes
Each access pass grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service subject to the following conditions:
- Price: A$298 per pass, charged as a one-time payment. No subscription or recurring charge.
- Validity: 14 calendar days from the first time you establish a translation connection, or 20 hours of total translation time — whichever limit is reached first.
- Device limits: One active host computer and one active reading screen per pass at any given time. The pass may not be shared or used concurrently across multiple sessions.
- Non-transferable: Passes may not be resold, gifted, or transferred to another person or organisation.
- No card stored: We do not store your payment card details. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider (see Section 9 of the Privacy Policy).
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the service lawfully and responsibly. In particular:
- You must have the legal right to translate or facilitate the translation of every conversation you run through the service.
- Where applicable law requires the consent of all parties before a conversation is translated or recorded, you are solely responsible for obtaining that consent before using the service. See also the Consent Notice section in our Privacy Policy for a suggested disclosure.
- You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose, to harass or deceive any person, or in any way that violates the rights of others.
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or circumvent the access controls of the service.
5. No Refunds
Access passes are final and non-refundable once activated or used. A pass is considered activated at the moment the first translation connection is established.
Nothing in this clause excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and a remedy is required by law, that remedy will be provided.
6. Availability & Changes
We provide the service on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, any particular level of uptime, or that the service will be free of errors or interruptions. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time and may change pricing for new purchases. Material changes that affect existing pass holders will be communicated via the email address associated with your purchase where reasonably practicable.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Translation is performed automatically and in real time. Automated translation may contain errors, omissions, or mistranslations. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy.
The service is not a substitute for a certified or NAATI-accredited human interpreter. Do not rely solely on the service for legal, medical, or other high-stakes decisions where translation accuracy is critical.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service (including but not limited to translation errors, service unavailability, or data loss) is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant access pass. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under Australian law.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
